Combined clinical-imaging database
for the cerebrovascular disease research

1.0 Objectives

Stroke is one of the most critical socio-economic burdens in an aging society. In particular, it is a significant disease that can reduce the risk and improve patients’ quality of life through sufficient prevention. To this end, various stroke-related studies are being conducted. Among them, an open platform that can share and utilize clinical and image data is one of the vital research methodologies. These shared platforms are being developed and operated by various researchers and institutions. As part of the future brain convergence technology development project in Korea, we intend to provide multiple researchers with the necessary resources for perpetuity through establishing brain-vascular fusion nurturing big data, and open image data warehouse research. This operation plan is related to the operation of data prepared by the cerebrovascular disease clinical-image convergence database project.

1.1 Overview of Combined clinical-imaging database for the cerebrovascular disease research

The Cerebrovascular Disease Clinical-Image Convergence Database (CCID) is a shared database of clinical and imaging data of patients with cerebrovascular disease. Based on the platform built by early-involved researchers, it is a platform where various researchers can voluntarily participate in managing, analyzing, and sharing clinical and image data of patients.

1. Provides and manages a research proposal platform so that the accumulated clinical-image data can be easily used for research.

2. Manage the provided clinical-image data and offer it in a form that can be used for analysis through regular quality control.

3. When the sale of data is proposed for research using shared data, the appropriateness is discussed, and the feasibility of the research topic is evaluated.

4. Research support system tailored to the research theme and personalized to researchers

5. Management of utilization and publication of research outcomes

6. Management of qualification and eligibility to propose research theme

7. We encourage research topic development and proposals through researcher meetings and workshops.

2.0 Researcher Qualifications

Researchers who utilize this database must indicate that they intend to use the data for research that meets the public interest by presenting the following matters.

● full name and belonging

● research objective and rationale

● Type and quantity of data required for research

● Written consent not to overuse the data beyond the scope of research purpose

● Written consent to destroy the data used in the study when the research purpose is achieved.

3.0 Confidentiality

In the case of conducting research using the KSR DB, it is necessary to consider that it is a study using the cerebrovascular disease clinical-image fusion database when submitting and reporting related research results in the form of abstracts, and presentations, papers, and press reports.

3.1 CCID-Open Proposal System Committee

3.1.1 CCID Steering Committees

Obligation

- Full database and platform management

- Promotion of research using database

- Program improvement and development for research utilization

- Review when applying for research using data

- Responsible for CCID data extraction and result analysis for data fields requested for approved research proposals

- Participate in the review of the feasibility of CCID data when the initial review committee approves the research.

Composition

- Committee chair + Committee members + Secretaries
